Connecting NDIS Providers and Support Workers

Built to Close the Gap Between Providers Who Need Cover and Workers Who Need Fair Shifts.

Every hour a provider spends manually filling a roster is an hour taken away from client care. Every day a support worker waits on a late payment is a day of trust chipped away. CarerMarket Australia exists to close both gaps: with a simple, technology-led marketplace built specifically for Australia's disability support sector.

Why We Started

Why We Started CarerMarket Australia

Before writing a single line of code, we spoke with the people who deal with rostering and shift work every day: NDIS providers and independent support workers across Australia. A pattern kept showing up in those conversations.

Providers described losing hours scrolling through profiles just to fill one opening. Support workers described finishing a shift and then waiting, sometimes a week or longer, just to see their pay land. That gap between effort and reward didn't sit right with us, so we set out to close it.

CarerMarket Australia is our answer: a disability support worker marketplace built to remove the guesswork for providers and shorten the wait for workers, without cutting corners on screening or accountability.

Our Story

Our Story So Far

CarerMarket Australia began with a straightforward observation: support workers, the people doing some of the most important work in the sector, were often treated as an afterthought by the platforms meant to support them.

Our team spent time with NDIS providers and support workers to understand where existing systems were falling short. What we heard was consistent. Providers wanted less admin and faster answers. Workers wanted fair pay, processed without unnecessary delay. That understanding continues to shape how we build CarerMarket Australia, from the way shifts are matched to the way payments are handled.

Our Mission

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission

Our mission is straightforward: make it easier for NDIS providers to find suitable support workers, and for support workers to find shifts and get paid without unnecessary delay.

Our vision

Our vision is a disability support sector where providers spend less time on admin, and support workers are treated as the skilled professionals they are. We’re building CarerMarket Australia to be a platform that people across the sector can rely on for both.

What We Stand For

What We Stand For

Simplicity FirstPosting a shift or picking up a shift should take minutes, not hours of back-and-forth.
Trust and AccountabilityEvery shift is screened and verified, so both providers and workers can feel confident about who's showing up.
Fair Pay, Handled ProperlySupport workers shouldn't be left waiting an unreasonable amount of time after finishing a shift.
Built Around Real FeedbackWe listen to providers and workers directly, and keep refining the platform around what they actually need.
Records That Protect Both SidesShift notes, feedback, and incident reports give providers and workers a clear account of every shift.

The Model

What Is CarerMarket Australia?

CarerMarket Australia is a technology platform, not a staffing agency. We don’t employ support workers directly: instead, we build the matching, verification and payment infrastructure that connects independent support workers with NDIS providers who need shifts covered.

Think of it as workforce marketplace software for disability support: providers post what they need, our matching process reviews availability, skills and location, and a suitable support worker is connected to the shift. Verification happens through QR and location check-in, and payment is processed once the shift is approved.

This marketplace model means the platform can focus on what technology does well: matching quickly, verifying accurately, and processing payments consistently, while providers and workers stay in control of the actual care relationship.

Safety

How We Keep Shifts Safe and Accountable

Safety isn't an add-on feature for us: it's built into how CarerMarket Australia works. Support workers on our platform are screened against NDIS requirements as part of onboarding, before they can be matched to shifts.

Every shift also uses our QR code and location check system. A worker scans the code on arrival, and the system checks their location against the shift address before the shift is recorded as started. This gives providers a clearer picture of who showed up, where, and when: without relying on a self-reported timesheet alone.

Coverage

Where We're Starting

CarerMarket Australia is launching from Melbourne, and we’re expanding across Australia from there. Rather than promising nationwide coverage on day one, we’d rather be upfront: we’re growing deliberately, market by market, so that matching, screening and payments stay reliable as we scale.

If you’re outside our current coverage area, we’d still encourage you to sign up: it helps us prioritise where we expand next.

The Team

The Team Behind CarerMarket

CarerMarket Australia is built and run by a team focused on making shift coverage simpler for NDIS providers and support workers. We continuously improve the platform using feedback from the people who use it every day, helping create a smoother experience for both providers and workers.

Day-to-day, the team is focused on three things: making shifts easier to fill, making check-ins more reliable, and making sure workers get paid without unnecessary delay.
