Safeguards: What We Check,
and What Stays With You

Handing a shift to someone you've never met is uncomfortable. You want to know they've been checked out properly before they walk in the door: not to find out the hard way that they weren't.

That's the gap Carer Market Australia was built to close.

We run every Independent Support Worker through a screening and verification process before they're ever eligible to be matched to your shifts. But we're also upfront about something most platforms won't tell you: verifying a worker isn't the same as guaranteeing how a shift goes. That responsibility still sits with you, the provider, and we'd rather be honest about that than promise something we can't deliver.

What We Check

What Carer Market Verifies

Before a support worker shows up on your roster, we check:

Worker screening checks (where applicable), including the NDIS Worker Screening Check, so you're not matching with someone who's never been through the process.

Qualifications and certifications: the credentials workers upload are reviewed as part of onboarding, not just taken on trust.

Relevant experience information: so the worker you're matched with actually has a background suited to the type of support you need.

Worker availability: confirmed in real time, so you're not chasing someone who's already booked out.

Location and service coverage: workers are matched based on where they can genuinely and reliably show up.

Shift requirements and matching criteria: skills, timing, and location are cross-checked before a match is made, not after.

Think of this as the groundwork. It's what lets you post a shift and trust that whoever gets matched has already cleared the basics: instead of you starting from zero with every new worker.

Where The Line Sits

What's Still On You, the Provider

This is the part that matters most, so we'll say it plainly: Care Market Australia checks the worker. You decide if they're right for the shift.

Final worker suitability: you make the call on whether a worker is the right fit for the specific shift and setting.

Care requirements and needs: understanding and communicating what the shift actually involves is your call, not ours.

Service delivery and supervision: once the shift starts, how it's run and supervised is between you and your worker.

Ongoing compliance obligations: your registration, your policies, your obligations. We don't manage these for you.

Risk assessment and care decisions: day-to-day judgment calls stay with the people actually delivering and overseeing the care.

SHIFT NOTES

When Something Goes Wrong, Write It Down Fast

Shifts do not always go to plan. A worker arrives to find a fall, a near miss, or a situation that needs attention. Memory fades quickly, and a clear record matters.

CarerMarket gives support workers an incident report inside each shift. They add what happened, and the platform saves the time and shift details with it. Everyone involved sees the same record.

Reporting duties still sit with you as the provider. That includes any report to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Our incident report gives you a clear, time-stamped record to work with. It does not replace your own processes.

Our Position

Why We Draw the Line Here

Picture a recruiter who runs background checks on every candidate before sending them your way. That's genuinely useful: it saves you hours of legwork. But the recruiter isn't in the room managing the job once someone's hired. That part's still yours.

That's exactly how Carer Market Australia operates. We do the screening legwork upfront so you're not starting cold. We don't sit in on the shift, and we're not the ones making care decisions: because that's not our role, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

A Straight Answer, Worker Verification Process

We won't tell you every shift will go perfectly, because no platform honestly can. What we will tell you is this: Workers are required to complete the platform's screening and verification requirements before becoming eligible for matching. Before they're eligible to be matched, we keep that process consistent every single time. If something about a match doesn't sit right, our support team is a message away.
